Why is it when i'm with my friends i can hold back tears but i cant with my parents?

Okay so a little background information: My friend went out with a girl for like 3 months or so. During this time I became very close with who he was going out, and we became good friends. I became her outlet for relationship problems, and I was kind of "in the relationship" it seemed because at one time I was on Facebook and BOTH of them were coming to me about what they should do. When she actually broke up with him I was at a water park and I left my phone in the room. When I got back I had a text from him, a text from another one of my friends, and a missed call from her. I excused myself to go in the hall so I could call her back. When she picked up it seemed like she was almost in tears, she had explained that her friends had pressured her into doing it. I comforted her, all the while I was confused. In the weeks that followed she relapsed and realized that she still loved him, and talked with him to explain that she just wanted a break. However, he moved on, while she still got teary eyed thinking about him. Throughout their relationship on my part I started realizing that I had feelings for her, do to the fact that we talked a ton and had a ton in common. She didn't feel the same, but she did say that my conversations with her were a lot more exciting than her conversations with my friend. Recently near the end of school we went on a grade wide trip to a water park. Both of her friends had guys they were hanging out with and she felt like she was a third wheel. That was the first half of her day, my first half was hanging out with my friends nonstop. However me and my friends moved to the indoor part where she was with her friends. It turns out my friends ditched me, her friends ditched her, and one of my friends was also there. So we formed a three person group and we hung out a lot for the next 2 hours. She constantly talked with me about wanting to have a boyfriend and how lonely she was. Before her friends actually ditched her we were all in the lazy river and she was talking with her friend about how she wanted to have a boyfriend. Her friend suggested she went out with me (I don't know if it was sarcastic or not, but it sure seemed like it was) and me and her met eyes for a second, and then she jumped to saying "No!" and she came up with some of the worst excuses possible. My family makes me feel like I'm worthless.?

I'm 15 years old girl, and am 5'1 and 128lbs, although some of it is muscle. I do pretty well academically and musically, I love to write stories and I am happy with my friends. But my family makes me so sad. I have three brothers and they never include me and make me always feel like the outsider. My Mom is constantly criticizing me, and comparing me to my friends, even when I think I've done well she finds someone who's been better. Lately, she has constantly said that I'm fat and that I eat too much junk food. It got to the point where I didn't want to be at home. So I went for a really long walk yesterday, but when I came back my Dad was really angry. I had a bag of old candy wrappers in my room that had accumulated, and he was mad at me for a) eating in my room (which I knew I wasn't allowed to and did apologize for, but that's about as bad as I get), and for b) eating the stuff at all. I told him that I didn't eat it all at once, but he didn't believe me and told me I looked like crap. I told him I wouldn't apologize for eating it but he pushed me against the wall and started screaming at me then sent me to my room. Afterwards he came up and acted so superior and told me basically what a great dad he was. After he left, I cried till my eyes hurt, cause I can't feel good about myself with him. I don't want to run away cause that wouldn't fix anything, and its not like he's abusive or anything, but I don't want to come after school anymore. My sister is so mean! How do I explain the fight to my mom?

My sister said something like "wow..." and I said "what?" and then casually turned my head back to my phone and she yelled at me saying I was rude to not pay attention to her. My cats just started fighting! What should I do?

I have three cats and a dog.. One cat, fudge, we've had for about 9 or 10 years, he's a male but not part of the problem... Our female cat, tasha, we've had for 6 or 7 years and the last, Casey, is a male who we've had for 2 or 3 years. So on Thursday at about 5 in the morning I woke up and heard 2 of our cats just screaming and fighting- tasha and Casey. Now they can't even be in Tue same room together without starting a fight. They havent major hurt eachother but tasha has a scratch on the nose and Casey acted as maybe his back side was hurting, but then again he's a touchy cat, he's really a brat.. lol.. and tasha is this big overweight calico who is very tense and jumpy at all times.. we bought some anxiety drops to give them and it made them all happy and tasha much more relaxed around us but as soon as they saw eachother again, they growl, hiss, and try to attack eachother. We have too keep them locked in separate rooms or have one in a pet carrier now. I have found even in my close friendships, my friends can't handle any real accountability. They claim they want it, but you say one little thing, and they get so offended. I had a friend who said someone who criticizes her makes her feel like they are not acting out of love towards her. But I believe true love holds people accountable...and I don't mean holding old offenses over their head. You can probably talk with his physician about going to a dietitian to get a better more honed in plan suitable for your son. Until you do that you can get him from in front of the television and outside to play. Don't push so hard you make him pass out but don't let him not participate. My cousin got her son on the city football team and baseball team and it has been working,because they cut his diabetic medication in half. She also took all of the junk food and sugary drinks out of the house. My son is 11 and 5'4 1/2" but he is thin, but was sneaking snacks so I stopped buy them. Your son is 8 and will eat only what you bring into the house. Start looking for healthy ways to cook food and have healthy snacks online that your whole family can do with him so he doesn't feel like you are picking on him. It is about retraining his mind so he will pick healthy things and only eat when he is hungry. No matter what I say it is all about you and what you want for your son. You are in charge of what he gets at home. My heart is hurting for your son because he weighs more than his father who is 6'0". You are not a bad parent you are a parent that says that is my baby and he can have what he wants,we all do it. Try and talk to your son about his weight because he knows more about fat and skinny than you think because if kids pick on other kids about having nappy hair they might be picking on him about his weight. Will purging have an effect?

I am on a diet of 800-1000 Cal's a day. Today However I know I went over that with a bacon egg and cheese from dunkin donuts 560 cals, two bags of 100 calorie pop corn, cheese its, turkey sandwich on wheat with american cheese, and brownie fudge ice cream. I am 5 foot 3 inches and weigh 119, but trying to be 112-114. I am not in anyway bulimic, but Im feeling really guilty about today. I was just curious if purging would even have an effect at all. I've ate badly two days in a row!... what to do!?

I'm supposed to be on a diet, eating small, healthy meals throughout the day and am on an exercise routine (I'm 16, 5'3 and 102 lbs). However today and yesterday I have grossly overeaten. Yesterday besides my normal meals and snacks I had two mugs of hot chocolate, two ice creams, three and a half chocolate chip cookies, and a ton of brownie mix and chocolate icing. Today, after vowing to eat better, I started off by eating a TON more chocolate icing, another chocolate chip cookie and then half a fudge brownie Oreo cake!!! I feel terrible now! I've already exercised a bit, but I know it's not near enough to burn off anywhere near what I've consumed. I definitely plan to eat better and exercise more over the next few days, but what else can I do??

Does cutting all ties with my mom make me a bad person (sorry its long)?

My mom and I have always had a strained relationship. I grew up mostly living with my dad, because my mom beat on me and my brother. I tried so hard to have a relationship with her, but she always treated me like I was possibly the worst kid in the world. She always acted like I was a wild out of control teenager. I had a lot of issues with depression, self harm, and suicide. After a month of rehabilitation I began relapsing, and my mom flipped out and told me she had wished I had killed myself. She's always been incredibly selfish. I finally started having a fairly normal life when i was 19 and moved away. On my 21st birthday I found out I was pregnant. She was so mad, and then after a few months she was okay with it and we began developing a relationship. It was still very strained, but it was a relationship. After my son was born she drove 4 hrs to come visit. I drove up there a fee times as well, but everytime I tried to spend time with her, she would make other plans. She also showed no interest in my son...no affection..nothing. Then she started telling me how to raise him. She constantly criticized me. She acted like she was the perfect mother. Finally, I had enough when she told me I am a terrible mom and acting like a teenage brat again. Everyone knows I'm an awesome mom. I'm 23 yrs old and spend 24/7 taking care of my kid. He's my whole life. Does excluding her from my son and my life make me a bad person? She hasn't seen him since this past Christmas anyway...so does it really even matter?

Hey! So I'm going on a trip pretty soon to London and Paris, it's going to be hopefully amazing, I'm planning on traveling in my style which is always to stay at nice hotels and be pampered and have really luxurious amenities and eat at the absolute coolest and best places and really live it up as much as I can, I mean hey, you only have one life to live, and I've always traveled this way, always, I've never really ever done any of the backpacking thing, and honestly the idea repulses me a little, I want to take everything in and be comfortable and feel like I'm at peace, and yet a little part of me wonder's, how is it like to backpack though? Like through europe, i mean for the price of a holiday in luxury places you could backpack through all of Europe, yet wouldn't it be uncomfortable? And I just want to hear some opinions, why and why not to backpack and if you like the idea of staying in more luxurious hotels and being pampered alongside your holiday, or if you prefer getting dirty and staying in hostels? What are some arguments and some like opinions on both, I mean it's not really like you see more or less of somewhere just by how you travel, right? And I always see a lot of backpackers always criticizing people who travel luxuriously for not taking in the culture and real life, who says you don't see the culture and life in a luxury hotel? You still go to the same sights, you still get the same place, you just spend it at different places is really all, so why do backpackers bash us so much? I applied to my number one college the University of New Hampshire. I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I have a 3.1 GPA 1420 SAT's. Excelent reccomondations, excelent essay, great EC's, a good amount of Community Service. I applied Jan. 11 of 2011. It is now almost March and I havnt heard a single thing back from UNH. I have already been denied from Uconn and Umass Lowell... :/. I think that the worst thig you can do is to let it go- I mean you have been friends for so why let it go now? If anything the rhyme scheme is simple and he is just writing what is clear on his mind. There seems to be less thought to this poem, Obviously be is talking about philosophy, and how our lives and like clear canvases, ready to portray the realities of our characters, but in them be to the full potential, also, that if one does not try to be all he is, that it is a crime. Since I was a child my mother has always given other children more attention than me. I did well in school and she ignored me. Yeah, actually it does. You make a few simple mistakes like losing an Ipod or forgetting to do something and parents or anyone else label you as irresponsible or can't be trusted. When your a teen, it's normal to make mistakes and adults don't realize that it's sometimes really hard to balance life with school and friends and family and homework and more school. Adults don't remember that it's not all fun and easy being a teen and were still growing and make mistakes but it doesn't necessarily label us as "teens who disappoint us and constantly mess up and make bad choices in life", 'cause in real life we mess up, it's not all perfect. I remember growing up and my parents buying me a Friendly's Ice Cream Cake every year for my birthday. PTSD and difficult boss?

Please, if anyone has any experience with this give me some advice. I have been diagnosed with severe PTSD, neurocardiogenic syncope(stress makes my bp drop) and low blood sugar. I work hard and can get through the day fine by coping mechanisms. However... My boss has a huge issue with me taking a short break( even 5 min!). I get there at 8 and work til lunch at 1. I'm pretty sure it's the law to allow a break. Without food my bp and bs both drop so I have to sneak to the bathroom to eat. Kind of gross, I know, but no other option. But also my boss is a control freak who loves to undermine you and criticize. You never know if the rules or instructions she tells you today apply tomorrow. She has thrown me into panic attacks more than once with her "lectures" that never make sense. Like one of my new assignments( I work at a medical center) is to always smile. She said she is aware I smile when I seat patients and while I'm in the ops but that if a patient happens to look out the door they need to see a "happy","carefree" employee that thinks their job is wonderful. If she catches me not smiling while working like an insane weirdo I am in trouble. Sounds small, I know, but it is something like this EVERYDAY. I try to just agree and do what she wants so peace remains but I am about to reach the breaking point. Ive tried discussing this things with her but wind up locked in her office for thirty mins to hear why I'm in the wrong... And yes she knows about all my health issues. What to do?? I enjoy(or can deal with) my job in every aspect other than her.
