What does "something transported around in a zoo" mean?
In "The Disappearing Spoon" by Sam Kean, p254 (Chapter 14), there is a sentence: One of Lowell's friends reported that he looked like something transported around in a zoo. The Lowell is Robert Lowell, and this is describing him after he dozed mood stabilizers. Could someone explain what "something transported around in a zoo" mean?
