Okay what should I do about my friend?

Me and my friend have known each other for about two or three years now. We've never had a fight or anything but recently he said he was really drunk in a text message while I was with my girlfriend. She saw it and got really upset and I don't blame her. She got over about the next day though and so did I. But when he texts me later like nothing happened I called him out on it. I called him a dumb*** which I probably shouldn't have. After that he gets really defensive and criticizes my girlfriend who he's never met. Up until that point I could have forgiven him had he just apologized for sending me the really stupid text messages. The next day I go to anniversary party that I knew he would be going to and we just didn't talk. Although beforehand he texted me asking if I was going like he wanted to hangout. Later that day k found out my girlfriend would be moving away and was really upset so I needed somebody to talk to .I apologized to him for calling him a dumb***. He just told me to leave him the f***k Aline so I haven't texted him since. I'll see him Sunday but I feel I shouldn't have to talk to him until he apologizes for criticizing my girlfriend. What do I do?
